the fellowship and work of women artists at LSU.”

at Texas Women's University and author and editor of several
books. Her work crosses borders in such fields as feminist theory,

Gender on Film: Transparent

Join us for the third film for the Spring. Directed by Jules
Russkam this documentary is about 19 female-to-male
transsexuals living in the United States who have given birth
and, in all but a few stories, gone on to raise their biological
children. Discussion after the film will focus on female to male
transsexuality, parenting, and breaking binaries.

Gender on Film: Don't Need You,
the Herstory of Riot GRRL

"Don't Need You" is a documentary film that tells the story of
the origins of Riot Grrrl in the American independent music
scene of the 1990s, and how this feminist movement evolved
into a revolutionary underground network of education and
self-awareness through music, writing, activism, and
women-friendly community. Post film discussion will focus
on feminist activism, riot grrls and social movements.
